My name is Katherine Caughran, I’ve spent most of my working life in supply chain operations consulting while ‘knitting on the side’. Originally learning “right-handed” knitting at the age of 8 from my “left-handed” grandmother, I’ve found knitting has become my “creative peace” in a busy world.
I tend to countdown to ‘knitmas’ year round as I pride myself on knitting a gift for everyone in the family. Over time these gifts have made their way back to me for darning & repairs to worn out soles. After a parent from my son’s school asked for my assistance, my new business venture was born.
I’ve been a sample knitter for a yarn shop back in my early 20s, I’ve done commissioned knitting for non-knitters, and I’ve done consignment knits to fill out the inventory at a newly opened fibre shop.
In addition, I’ve taught knitting at elementary schools, local Parks & Recreation and in private classes.
My secret plan is to create more knitters & justify my yarn shopping…
